Segment scanning

Pre-fabricated tunnel lining segments are today fitted with chips storing all of the information from the manufacturing process.

CAP is thus incorporating a connected scanner solution capable of reading out this information and storing it in the database.

Segments can be scanned initially when they arrive on site in the segment staging area to keep track of available stock, and then again when they are laid in the tunnel to record their position.

Acquiring and analyzing settlement data

Keeping track of surface settlement data during passage of the TBM, particularly in urban areas, is a key point of the tunnel excavation process. These data can now be acquired automatically.

CAP has conceived a new interface integrating settlement data analysis to be able to record all excavation data together in the database and thus compare data from the TBM with surface settlement measurements.

This interface lets you analyze any long-term variations in surface settlement data and relay the information to production teams for the TBM pilot to act on in the event of a problem.

To make interpretation of these data easier, measured points and the TBM axis are displayed together on Google Maps ®.

Checking tunnel cracks using a tablet

Cracking in tunnel segments is a sensitive subject and regular checks are time-consuming. To make them easier to identify and analyze, CAP provides a tablet with an interface for reporting segment cracks.

The user is able to identify cracks and draw them on a ring plan with additional information inserted. The data are stored in the form of synoptic tables.
